Live Shopping Script Template: A 30-Minute Show, Minute by Minute
A ready-to-use live shopping script for a 30-minute show — opening lines, product segments, engagement moments and a strong close. Copy it and make it yours.
A good live shopping show feels relaxed and spontaneous — and that's usually because the host has a clear plan. This template gives you a structure for a 30-minute show that you can adapt to any product.
Why use a script
A script isn't a word-for-word speech. It's a running order with key points, so you never freeze, forget a product or run out of time. Keep it on a sheet next to the camera.
Minute 0–3: Welcome
Viewers trickle in during the first minutes, so don't start with your best product.
"Hi everyone, welcome! I'm [name] from [store]. Tell me in the chat where you're watching from. Tonight I'm showing you [theme] — and stay until the end, because there's a live-only deal just for you."
- Say hello to people by name as they join.
- Explain how to buy: "Tap any product under the video to add it to your cart."
- Tease the deal or giveaway to keep people watching.
Minute 3–25: Product segments
Plan 6–8 products at roughly 2–3 minutes each. Use the same structure for every product:
- Pin the product so it appears under the video.
- Show it: hold it close to the camera, then show it in use or on.
- Three key points: what it is, why it's special, who it's for.
- Practical details: sizes, colours, materials, care.
- Answer a question from chat.
- Call to action: "If you love this, tap it now — we only have a few in medium."
Put your strongest product around minute 8–10, once most viewers have arrived, and another strong one near the end.
Engagement moments
- Minute ~12: poll. "Which colour should I try on next — sand or sage?"
- Minute ~18: live deal. Drop the discount code and say how long it lasts.
- Minute ~22: giveaway. "Type WIN in the chat to enter — I'll draw a winner at the end."
- Throughout: read questions out loud before answering them, so everyone can follow.
Minute 25–30: Close
"Thank you so much for being here! Quick recap: tonight's favourites were [product 1] and [product 2]. Remember, the live code ends in an hour. Our winner is… [name]! Next show is [day, time] — I'll be showing [teaser]. See you then!"
- Recap the top products and pin the bestseller one last time.
- Draw the giveaway winner.
- Announce the next show so viewers can plan for it.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Talking without showing. Keep products in frame and close to the camera.
- Ignoring the chat. Viewers who get a reply stay longer and buy more.
- Forgetting prices. Say the price every time you introduce a product.
- Too many products. Fewer products with more detail beats a rushed catalogue.
- Ending abruptly. Always close with a recap and the next date.
